Hydraulic shears for excavators

A hydraulic shear mounts on the excavator arm in place of the bucket and cuts by shearing: the jaws close over a beam, pipe, profile or rebar and cut it in one stroke, with no hammering and no vibration passed to the buildings next door. The catalog has a shear for reinforced concrete and mixed structures, the YZJ310 shear for heavy scrap, the Eagle Shear 310 with 360° rotation, the JS-RT series in five sizes for 14–39 t excavators, and a tree shear for land clearing.

Frequently asked questions about hydraulic shears

What excavator do I need for a hydraulic shear?+
It depends on the shear: the 1,350 kg Eagle Shear 310 fits 10–20 t excavators, the 3,300 kg YZJ310 fits 12–35 t, and the JS-RT series covers 14–39 t, from the JS280RT (2,100 kg) to the JS480RT (4,600 kg). The tree shear works from 3 t excavators. Send us your excavator model and we will tell you which shear it can drive.
Shear or pulverizer for demolition?+
A shear cuts metal: beams, profiles, pipes, plate and exposed rebar. A pulverizer crushes concrete and separates it from the rebar. On a steel hall you work with the shear; on a reinforced concrete structure, with the pulverizer and then the shear for the steel. For mixed structures, the demolition shear cuts both the concrete and the rebar.
Is a 360° rotating shear worth it?+
Yes, when you cut profiles lying in every direction, as in dismantling and scrap yards. With hydraulic rotation the operator lines the jaws up on the profile from the cab, without moving the arm or the machine. The Eagle Shear 310 rotates without limit and cuts in an 8–12 second cycle.
What hydraulic circuit does a shear need?+
An auxiliary circuit on the excavator. The JS-RT series needs 180–300 L/min at 250–350 kg/cm², the Eagle Shear 310 works at 25–30 MPa, and the tree shear at 40–100 L/min and up to 250 bar. The values come from the excavator data sheet and are checked before the order.
