An H-beam assembly machine performs the first, and most sensitive, step in welded beam fabrication: it places the flanges on the web, aligns them and fixes them before the final weld. If the beam starts out crooked here, no welding and no straightening will ever bring it perfectly back to dimension. LAZIRON ZL does this operation automatically, for H-beams with a web of 200–2000 mm, flanges of 200–1000 mm and flange thicknesses of up to 80 mm, at an assembly speed of 0.5–6 m/min.
In many shops, assembly is still done on a table, with clamps, wedges, squares and welders tacking the part. It is slow, depends on people's experience and gives deviations from one beam to the next. The ZL machine replaces this stage and sits between strip cutting of the plate and gantry welding, followed by flange straightening. It is part of the range of H-beam and box girder fabrication machines.
• Precise alignment on every part: the flanges are positioned exactly relative to the web, the basic condition for the strength and quality of the finished beam.
• Automatic operation: the control system runs the assembly, reduces manual intervention and limits human error and dead time.
• Assembly speed of 0.5–6 m/min: assembly is continuous, as the part advances, not piece by piece on the work table, with repeated repositioning and checks.
• Two models, wide range: ZL-0818 for beams up to 1800 mm high and ZL-1020 for beams up to 2000 mm, with webs of up to 60 mm and flanges of up to 80 mm.
• Flexible welding process: tacking is done with single arc and single wire or with twin arc and twin wire, depending on part thickness and the desired pace.
• Robust construction: the machine is made of durable materials, for long service in continuous industrial operation.
• Length adapted to your production: the part length can be adapted to the customer's requirement, beyond the standard ranges in the table.
• Less skilled labour: assembly no longer needs teams of experienced fitters and welders for every beam.
The result shows in the following stages: a correctly assembled beam welds faster, distorts less and arrives at straightening with small deviations. In practice, the H-beam assembly machine locks in the quality of the whole flow from the first step.
| Parameter | LAZIRON ZL-0818 | LAZIRON ZL-1020 |
|---|---|---|
| Web height | 200–1800 mm | 200–2000 mm |
| Web thickness | 6–32 mm | 6–60 mm |
| Flange width | 200–800 mm | 200–1000 mm |
| Flange thickness | 6–40 mm | 6–80 mm |
| Part length | 500–6500 mm | 4000–15000 mm |
| Power (excluding the two welding power sources) | 8.4 kW | 15 kW |

The part length can be adapted to the customer's requirement.
The choice between models depends on your parts. The ZL-0818 handles short parts, of 500–6500 mm, with webs of up to 32 mm and flanges of up to 40 mm, suited to medium-sized beams and short parts. The ZL-1020 accepts parts of 4000–15000 mm, webs of up to 60 mm and flanges of up to 80 mm, for heavy beams for bridges, large halls and industrial structures.
The ZL machine is designed for H-beam fabrication in steel structures, from columns and rafters for halls to main girders for industrial platforms, overhead cranes and multi-storey buildings. When a rolled H-beam does not exist in the size from the calculation, or would be oversized, a beam welded from plate is the natural solution, and precise assembly is the condition for it to perform as designed.
Steel construction plants working in large series gain the most: the same steel beams, repeated dozens of times in a project, come out identical. Smaller shops gain flexibility, because every new H-beam only means adjusting the machine, not building a new assembly fixture on the table. For large steel constructions, with tall beams and thick flanges, the ZL-1020 version covers the dimensions required by heavy structures.
Demand comes from a few clear directions: industrial and logistics halls, factory extensions, structures for energy and infrastructure, plus subcontracting for builders in Western Europe, where tolerances are strictly checked at acceptance. For a shop that wants to win these orders, an H-beam assembly machine is often the first machine that changes the class of its production: from a shop that buys sections, it becomes a plant that produces beams to the size in the project, with repeatable quality and lead times it controls itself.
The machine is delivered with CE-certified components and with the documentation required by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. After assembly, the beam goes on to fillet welding: see the MH gantry welding machine, which completes the line.
A complete welded beam line has four stages: strip cutting of the plate for flanges and web, assembly, fillet welding and flange straightening. The H-beam assembly machine is the link between cutting and welding, and its pace sets the pace of the whole line. At 0.5–6 m/min, it does not become the point where parts pile up.
There is also a less obvious effect. Assembly deviations (offset flange, off-centre web, wrong angle between flange and web) are amplified during welding, because welding pulls the part towards the side where the weld bead is larger. A beam that is well aligned from the start welds symmetrically, distorts little and passes through straightening quickly. A roughly assembled beam costs time at every following stage and sometimes ends up as scrap.
If you already have a gantry welding machine and a straightening machine, the ZL completes the line without changing the rest of your flow. If you are starting from scratch, we can configure the whole line: assembly, gantry welding and hydraulic straightening, all from the LAZIRON range, with a single partner for installation and service.
1. The web and the two flanges, cut to the width in the project, are loaded onto the machine.
2. The control system aligns the flanges relative to the web and positions them at the required dimensions.
3. The components are clamped and fixed so that they do not move during tacking.
4. The machine tacks by welding, with single arc and single wire or twin arc and twin wire, as the part advances at 0.5–6 m/min.
5. The assembled H-beam is unloaded and goes on to fillet welding, then to flange straightening.
The operator supervises the process and checks the parts, instead of aligning each flange by hand. Training is included at commissioning, given by our local team, in your language, directly on the beams from your production.
Changing from one size to another is done by adjusting the machine, not by building a new assembly fixture. For shops that work on many different projects, with beams varying from one order to the next, this means that short series also stay profitable, and quoting is based on a known production rate.

Six technology directions we integrate turnkey: from plug & play IIoT sensors, to cobots, predictive maintenance, optical inspection, MES connectivity and custom industrial software.
See in real time how much each machine produces and how long it sits idle. We fit sensors on any equipment, new or old, and within a few hours you have the OEE dashboard on your phone. No complex wiring, no production downtime. The first concrete step toward digitalization, with ROI visible from the very first month.
Solve your labor shortage without tripling your costs. The cobot works safely alongside your people (palletizing, feeding the CNC, welding) while you recover the investment in 12-18 months. Prices 30-40% below European distributors, with installation and programming included from us.
Stop waiting for things to break. Our algorithms analyze sensor data and tell you exactly which part will fail and when, and we bring it to your production line before the breakdown. Zero unplanned downtime, zero contractual penalties, complete operational peace of mind.
Eliminate defects before they reach the customer. Our cameras inspect every part at speeds no operator can match, detecting sub-millimeter defects. They mount onto your existing line, with no modifications. Ideal if you produce for export and have strict quality clauses.
Connect your machines to your office, regardless of brand or age. Our gateway automatically translates the data from any machine into your ERP's format: no manual entry, no paper forms, no human error. The manager sees production live, the operator receives digital instructions.
Have a process that no off-the-shelf software can solve? We build custom industrial applications: from tailored SCADA panels and HMI interfaces, to production planning systems, lot traceability and automated reporting. The code is yours, it runs on your servers, with no monthly subscriptions or vendor lock-in.
