Large diameter pipe cutting straight from the drawing, with no templates and no manual marking out: that is what LAZIRON XG does. It is a CNC machine that automatically calculates and cuts the joints at the ends of steel pipes, intersection holes and segmented elbows, with plasma or a flame (oxy-fuel). It processes round pipes of 108–2000 mm, with cutting lengths of 6–12 m, and is aimed at structural steel plants, shipyards and shops that prepare pipelines for the petrochemical industry.
In many halls, pipes with intersections are still made the old way: template, marking out, manual layout, manual cutting and grinding. Every step adds hours of work and deviations that only show up at erection. The XG machine takes the place of this chain: it takes the file from Tekla, 3D3S, CAD or SolidWorks, generates G-code directly and makes the complete cut at the end of the pipe. It sits at the start of the flow, before assembly and welding. It is part of the range of CNC cutting machines for large pipes.
• No templates or marking out: intersections, holes and segmented elbows are calculated automatically from the geometry of the pipes being joined. Nobody draws developments on paper or thin sheet any more, and a marking error no longer ruins an expensive pipe.
• Plasma or oxy-fuel, depending on the part: plasma cutting works with bevelling of up to ±45°, and oxy-fuel (flame) cutting reaches ±55°. You choose the right method for the wall thickness and for the weld preparation required by the project.
• Easy loading of large pipes: the floating chuck box and the roller supports allow quick loading of heavy pipes, without adjusting the distance between rollers at every change of diameter.
• The chuck adapts to the pipe: the chuck centre height is floating and adjustable. The pipe is not moved for centring, the chuck comes to it, which keeps cut quality exactly where it matters, on large diameters.
• Straight from the 3D model: files from Tekla, 3D3S, CAD and SolidWorks are converted directly into G-code. The part in the model arrives identical in the hall, with no manual reprogramming and no interpretation of the drawing.
• Length accuracy of ±1.5 mm: the cutting head keeps to the required length, so structural members go into erection without adjustments with the grinder.
• Four diameter ranges: the versions cover 108–1000, 219–1210, 325–1620 and 630–2000 mm, and the cutting length of 6–12 m can be customised to your hall and your parts.
• Less labour on every part: one operator runs a process that used to need a marker, a cutter and a grinder. Clean, burr-free cuts shorten weld preparation.
In short, precision work moves from the shop floor to the computer. The geometry of the intersection no longer depends on the hand and experience of the marker, but on the 3D model, and every pipe in the series comes out the same as the first. For a structural steel plant, this means erection schedules that can be planned and fewer surprises on site, where a correction costs the most.

The two models have the same cutting parameters. The difference lies in how the pipe is supported: the XG uses roller supports, the XGT a roller bed. The diameter version is chosen according to the parts you produce most often.
A practical example: if you mostly work with medium diameter pipes for steel structures, platforms and process pipelines, without very large shells, the 219–1210 mm or the 325–1620 mm version covers your current orders with room to spare. If production includes shells and very large pipes, the 630–2000 mm version is the logical choice. We send you a reasoned recommendation once you tell us which diameters, thicknesses and lengths appear most often in your projects, and we set the cutting length according to the space in your hall.
In tubular steel structures (space trusses, columns, platforms, wide-span halls), every node has a different intersection. The XG machine cuts the profiled ends so that the branch pipe sits on the main pipe without gaps, with the joint prepared for welding. The designer working in Tekla or 3D3S sends the part straight to cutting, with no intermediate shop drawings and no hand-cut templates. Bevelling of up to ±45° with plasma or ±55° with a flame directly prepares the V-groove for the full penetration weld, so the welder receives a part ready for tacking, not one that still needs grinding.
In shipbuilding and in marine and offshore engineering, the machine prepares tubular piping and pipe structural members. In the petrochemical industry and for oil pipelines, the same large diameter pipe cutting produces the nozzles, intersection holes and segmented elbows for pipe networks connected to steel tanks and pressure vessels, where the quality of the weld preparation is strictly checked at every joint.
For shops that provide services, a large diameter pipe cutting machine opens up a segment of orders that few can fulfil: nodes for tubular structures, parts for pipelines and members for shipbuilding. Instead of sending pipes to someone else and waiting, you keep the job, the deadline and the margin in your own hall.
The machine is also used in machine building, metallurgy and civil construction, wherever large pipes with profiled ends are needed. It is delivered with CE-certified components and with the documentation required by the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. If your production calls for even larger pipes, of 1700–2800 mm and up to 40 m long, see the HG double-head robot for offshore pipes.
1. The designer exports the part from Tekla, 3D3S, CAD or SolidWorks, and the system automatically calculates the intersection line and generates the G-code.
2. The pipe is loaded on the roller supports (XG) or the roller bed (XGT), without adjusting the distance between rollers.
3. The floating chuck grips the pipe, and the centre height is adjusted to the diameter, without the pipe being moved.
4. The operator chooses the method (plasma or flame) and the bevel angle required by the weld preparation.
5. The machine makes the intersections, holes and profiled ends, at a cutting speed of 10–2000 mm/min and a travel speed of 10–6000 mm/min.
6. The pipe is unloaded ready for assembly and welding, without corrective grinding.
Because the program comes straight from the 3D model, a series of identical nodes is repeated without new marking out. A trained operator is working after a few days of training, and repeating an old order just means reloading the file. The drive servo motors keep the speed constant along the whole contour, and the operator supervises the process instead of guiding the flame around the pipe by hand. The time saved shows especially on series of repetitive nodes, where manual marking out would otherwise take longer than the cutting itself.

Six technology directions we integrate turnkey: from plug & play IIoT sensors, to cobots, predictive maintenance, optical inspection, MES connectivity and custom industrial software.
See in real time how much each machine produces and how long it sits idle. We fit sensors on any equipment, new or old, and within a few hours you have the OEE dashboard on your phone. No complex wiring, no production downtime. The first concrete step toward digitalization, with ROI visible from the very first month.
Solve your labor shortage without tripling your costs. The cobot works safely alongside your people (palletizing, feeding the CNC, welding) while you recover the investment in 12-18 months. Prices 30-40% below European distributors, with installation and programming included from us.
Stop waiting for things to break. Our algorithms analyze sensor data and tell you exactly which part will fail and when, and we bring it to your production line before the breakdown. Zero unplanned downtime, zero contractual penalties, complete operational peace of mind.
Eliminate defects before they reach the customer. Our cameras inspect every part at speeds no operator can match, detecting sub-millimeter defects. They mount onto your existing line, with no modifications. Ideal if you produce for export and have strict quality clauses.
Connect your machines to your office, regardless of brand or age. Our gateway automatically translates the data from any machine into your ERP's format: no manual entry, no paper forms, no human error. The manager sees production live, the operator receives digital instructions.
Have a process that no off-the-shelf software can solve? We build custom industrial applications: from tailored SCADA panels and HMI interfaces, to production planning systems, lot traceability and automated reporting. The code is yours, it runs on your servers, with no monthly subscriptions or vendor lock-in.
