• Hot rolled round bar is usually made from 5.5 to 250 mm in diameter.
• Cold drawn round bar has tight tolerances, ISO h8 below 10 mm and h9 above 10 mm, and it can be ground on request.
• Hot dip galvanised round bar has a bright, durable zinc layer that protects it from corrosion for a long time.
Low carbon round bar is used for drawn wire, forged rivets, bolts and nuts. Medium carbon round bar is used for machine parts.
On request, the bar is supplied annealed, normalised, quenched and tempered or stress relieved. It can also be peeled, with a clean, blasted or painted surface.
Steel round bar is used for truck side members and beams, transmission shafts and chassis parts. It is also used as a blank for seamless pipe and in construction.
The part decides the grade and the condition of the bar. For automatic lathes you take cold drawn bar, and for large parts hot rolled or forged bar.
