• Carbon steel angle iron is used for frames and structures that get painted.
• Hot dip galvanised angle is dipped in molten zinc at about 500 °C. The zinc layer protects it from corrosion, including in acid or alkaline mist.
• Cold galvanised angle gets a zinc powder coating that protects the steel electrochemically.
• Stainless steel angle resists marine and corrosive industrial atmospheres, and welds and forms well.
• For frame structures, high voltage towers, side frames of bridge girders and tower crane jibs.
• Galvanised angle goes into power and telecom towers, facades, racking, railways, highway guardrails, street light poles and marine parts.
