The UZX-X5-HS is a crawler sewer inspection robot for DN300–1000 pipes. The HD pan-and-tilt zoom camera films the pipe wall and joints, and the lift kit with auxiliary LED light brings it to the pipe centre in large sewers.
The six wheels have independent motors, so the robot climbs slopes of about 45° and crosses sediment. It is controlled wirelessly from a Microsoft Surface tablet with joystick, and the motorised reel holds 120 m of cable, with a 300 m option. The software recognises defects during the inspection and produces the report in one click.

The crawler robot enters the pipe through a manhole, tethered by cable to the motorised reel at the surface. The operator drives it from the tablet with a joystick and sees the pan-and-tilt zoom camera live, and can raise the camera to the pipe centre. The software records the video, the distance travelled and the defects, and produces the inspection report at the end. The wheels are changed to suit the pipe diameter.

It is used for inspecting DN300–1000 sewer networks and storm pipes, for accepting new pipes, for assessing defects before rehabilitation and for maintenance planning by water utilities.
The first criterion is the diameter. For DN100–250 choose the UZX-X5-HM100, for DN150–500 the UZX-X5-HMA, for DN200–1000 the UZX-X5-HT5, for DN300–1000 the UZX-X5-HS and UZX-X5-HT4, and for large sewers the UZX-X5-HW (DN500–1500) and UZX-T300 (above DN400). The second criterion is pipe condition: in flooded pipes choose the UZX-X5-HR4 and UZX-X5-HR-W multi-sensor robots with sonar. The third criterion is what must be measured: manholes are inspected with the UZX-X8-A, UZX-X1 and UZX-QS-360, diameter is measured with the UZX-QS-D, and pressurised drinking water mains with the UZX-G70-U2.
