• Welded square tube is formed from steel strip that runs through a series of rolls, then welded.
• Seamless square tube is made from seamless tube by cold drawing or hot rolling. It has no weld seam, so it handles pressure better and has a more uniform structure.
Square hollow section is used in construction, for structures and maintenance work, railings and sign posts. Galvanised SHS steel is chosen for parts that stay outdoors.
The load decides the section, wall and grade. Ordinary structures work with S235JRH, while heavy loads take S355J2H.
