A portable laser welding machine performs three operations with the same gun: it welds thin sheet metal with a narrow, clean bead, removes rust, oxides and grease before joining, and performs corrective cuts directly on the workpiece. The catalog configuration, a 2.000 W MAX source with an SUP23T gun, is the one we delivered in five units to a NATO base in Romania and, in an equivalent configuration, to a photovoltaic workshop in Bucharest: Future Energy Group.
It is purchased by workshops that weld thin sheet metal and struggle to find welders: metal fabrication shops, stainless-steel fabricators for HoReCa, photovoltaic structure manufacturers, service companies and teams working on open construction sites, in wind and rain, where a conventional electric arc can no longer produce a clean weld bead.

The complete technical datasheet (weight, cooling type, fiber cable length, wire feeder) is provided with the written quotation because these parameters differ between configurations. And if you want to verify the figures before signing anything, that is exactly what the trial on consignment is for: the machine in your workshop, tested on your own parts.
This is the question asked across welding forums, and the serious answer depends on what you weld. For thin sheet metal, the arguments are measurable. MIG and TIG depend on a shielding-gas envelope around the arc; in winds above 5–7 m/s, common on Romanian construction sites, the gas is simply blown away from the weld pool, resulting in porosity and welds rejected during inspection. The laser concentrates energy at a point and operates the same way in 7 m/s winds and rain, as verified during the delivery to the NATO base, where the aluminum hangars were welded outdoors to a firm deadline, without a technical shelter.
The second argument is the heat-affected zone. An electric arc deposits energy over a wide area and leaves a 5–10 mm affected zone, causing thermal distortion and requiring subsequent straightening. The laser leaves less than 0,5 mm: the part can be installed directly, without geometric correction. And the oscillating motion that a MIG/TIG welder takes years to master is automated in the gun, leaving the operator to focus mainly on positioning and focus control.
And the limitation, stated just as directly: for large thicknesses and deep-penetration joints, conventional arc welding remains the correct choice. A 2.000 W machine is specialized for thin sheet metal, precisely the area where an electric arc is hardest to control.
From 5.500 € + VAT in the basic configuration: a 2.000 W source with an SUP23T gun. As a market reference, Future Energy Group paid approximately 11.000 € in 2024 for the same class of equipment; prices have since roughly halved. On Romanian listings, 3-in-1 machines currently range from around 35.000 lei for 1.200 W to more than 60.000 lei for higher-power units, so it is worth checking exactly which source and power level are included in the displayed price.
Payback is straightforward to calculate because the saving is primarily labor cost. A qualified welder costs around 2.500 € per month and takes more than two months to recruit in a market with a chronic shortage. At Future Energy Group, the machine paid for itself in approximately 2,2 months based solely on the avoided salary cost. The figure is documented in the case study, with the calculation shown openly.
The final price depends on the source power, the gun and the accessories selected in the quotation, including a wire feeder for joints with a gap if the application requires it. We respond with a written specification, not a broad price range. The machine can also be financed through financial leasing or supplier credit, and for EU-funded projects we provide the required procurement documentation.
The laser rust-cleaning function is what makes the machine not only a welding tool but also an alternative to abrasive blasting. It removes rust, oxides and grease without chemicals and without dust; surface preparation before joining, essential for aluminum, is performed with the same gun used for welding. For refurbishment work, the cleaning process leaves the metal clean without the consumables and mess associated with blasting.
The cutting function covers on-site geometric corrections: a cut-out, an edge adjustment or a pass-through hole. It does not replace a table laser cutting machine for serial production (there is a dedicated product range for that in the catalog), but it eliminates trips back to the workshop for a one-minute cut.
Clean beads on thin sheet, with no thermal distortion and no subsequent straightening.
Welding in wind and rain, where MIG/TIG lose the shielding gas: verified on the NATO delivery.
At Future Energy Group, the operator was trained in two hours; the dependence on a hard-to-recruit welder drops decisively.
The most frequently cited detail from the Future Energy Group delivery is that the owner, with no previous welding experience, produced premium-quality weld beads on aluminum after approximately two hours of practice. The explanation is technical, not promotional: the machine automates oscillation and simplifies most of the variables that require years of arc-welding practice, leaving the operator mainly with the focusing technique. For a small workshop, this means the team is no longer dependent on a qualified welder who is difficult to recruit.
For laser welding machines, Uzinex applies a physical trial-on-consignment policy: you receive the machine in your own workshop and test it on your own parts, without a proforma invoice and without an advance payment. The purchase decision comes after you have seen the weld bead on your own material, not after a demonstration on a sample selected by the seller.
“The physical proof-in-custody policy that we applied here became our standard for laser welding machines.”
At the NATO base, we delivered five identical machines (three active and two standby units for redundancy) for expeditionary hangars made of 5xxx-series aluminum. Welding was performed outdoors in 7 m/s winds and rain, under a firm deadline. The case study documents the direct comparison with MIG and TIG under the same conditions.
At Future Energy Group, a three-person workshop with no employed welder, the machine operated for 12 months with only one service intervention: a lens replacement. The video testimonial on this page is theirs and is unfiltered.
• Physical trial on consignment before purchase, with no proforma invoice and no advance payment. • Transport, commissioning and operator training included within Romania; the delivery time is confirmed in the quotation. • 60-month warranty. Typical market warranties for this type of equipment are 12–24 months. • Optional 24-hour replacement subscription: a replacement machine is delivered until the fault is repaired. • Consumables and replacement lenses available through service support: the only intervention during the 12 months documented at Future Energy Group was a lens replacement. • Technical documentation for SEAP/SICAP public procurement and EU-funded project files.

Six technology directions we integrate turnkey: from plug & play IIoT sensors, to cobots, predictive maintenance, optical inspection, MES connectivity and custom industrial software.
See in real time how much each machine produces and how long it sits idle. We fit sensors on any equipment, new or old, and within a few hours you have the OEE dashboard on your phone. No complex wiring, no production downtime. The first concrete step toward digitalization, with ROI visible from the very first month.
Solve your labor shortage without tripling your costs. The cobot works safely alongside your people (palletizing, feeding the CNC, welding) while you recover the investment in 12-18 months. Prices 30-40% below European distributors, with installation and programming included from us.
Stop waiting for things to break. Our algorithms analyze sensor data and tell you exactly which part will fail and when, and we bring it to your production line before the breakdown. Zero unplanned downtime, zero contractual penalties, complete operational peace of mind.
Eliminate defects before they reach the customer. Our cameras inspect every part at speeds no operator can match, detecting sub-millimeter defects. They mount onto your existing line, with no modifications. Ideal if you produce for export and have strict quality clauses.
Connect your machines to your office, regardless of brand or age. Our gateway automatically translates the data from any machine into your ERP's format: no manual entry, no paper forms, no human error. The manager sees production live, the operator receives digital instructions.
Have a process that no off-the-shelf software can solve? We build custom industrial applications: from tailored SCADA panels and HMI interfaces, to production planning systems, lot traceability and automated reporting. The code is yours, it runs on your servers, with no monthly subscriptions or vendor lock-in.
