Uzinex CFO, specialist in grant funding and alternative financing, with more than 25 years in corporate finance. Accredited European Commission expert, with 287 projects evaluated. He structures the financial side of equipment investments.
Daniel-Iulius Dumitru is CFO of Uzinex and one of the most experienced financing specialists in Romania. An economics graduate, he has worked for more than 25 years in corporate finance, grant funding, capital raising and private markets, with a focus on entrepreneurial companies in a growth phase.
He is an accredited European Commission expert, a capacity in which he evaluated 287 projects financed through European and national programmes. That experience gives Uzinex clients a rare advantage: he knows the evaluation criteria from the inside, so from the first conversation he can tell which equipment configuration and which investment plan have a real chance at funding, and what loses points.
As founder and Managing Partner of IDEAS, a network of independent experts in fundraising, corporate finance and M&A, he supported companies in raising more than EUR 50 million through combinations of grants, structured lending, private equity and hybrid instruments. He took part in structuring investment funds backed by European financial instruments, together with regional development agencies and the European Investment Fund, with a combined capitalisation of around EUR 100 million.
He has served as CEO and interim CFO for companies going through financing rounds, restructuring or preparation for sale, and for international private equity funds active in Romania he handled deal sourcing, in particular in Transylvania. At Uzinex all of that experience leads to a simple outcome for the client: the equipment investment is built on the right financing structure, not on the first option available.
“A machine pays for itself out of what it produces. My job is to build the financing structure that leaves the client’s cash flow intact until it gets there.
