The UZX-993 twin shaft paddle mixer blends powders and granules in a fluidized zone, where particles float as if weightless. Two counter rotating shafts with pitched, overlapping paddles work in a W-shaped trough. Total volume ranges from 30 to 20,000 L.
It is also known as a fluidized zone mixer, fluidizing mixer or zero gravity mixer. It typically reaches a uniform blend in 30–60 seconds, about 20% of the time a ribbon blender needs.

The paddles turn at a tip speed where centrifugal force balances the weight of the particles. In the central zone, where the paddles of the two shafts meet, the material floats and blends very quickly.
Overlapping paddles leave no dead zones, and the W trough keeps pushing material toward the center. Fragile particles are protected by an air cushion, so friction stays low and they do not break.
