The UZX-990 ribbon blender blends powders, granules and viscous pastes in a horizontal U-shaped trough with a double ribbon on the shaft. It reaches a blend ratio of 1:500,000, which means 1 gram of additive spread evenly through a 500 kg batch. Total volume ranges from 30 to 30,000 L.
It is also known as a ribbon mixer or horizontal ribbon blender. It works with medium shear, more vigorous than a gentle blender and less aggressive than a high intensity system.

Power depends on the product and is increased for dense powders or pastes. We confirm it in the quote, together with the dimensions.
The outer ribbon moves material from the ends of the trough toward the center, while the inner ribbon moves it back toward the ends. The two opposite flows blend continuously.
As they turn, the ribbons lift and throw the material, so particles move freely both along the length and across the radius. The U shape of the trough leaves no zones where material stands still.
Medium shear breaks up soft agglomerates without damaging the particles, as happens in plough type units.

Choose the ribbon blender for a blend ratio of 1:500,000 and when you also handle viscous pastes. For finer blends, as fine as 1:1,000,000, and for fragile materials, the right choice is the industrial paddle mixer UZX-991 for powders, 5–30,000 L.
