The UZX-986 high shear mixer disperses, homogenizes and emulsifies liquids directly in the process vessel. Its rotor and stator workhead mounts on top, on the vessel flange or a mobile stand, or at the bottom of the vessel. Batches range from 10 to 12,000 L.
It is also known as a batch homogenizer, high shear homogenizer or emulsifying mixer. Compared with a standard agitator it works more intensely in a small volume and often cuts processing time by up to 90%.

For viscous products the motor power can be increased to keep the optimal speed. We confirm power and volume in the quote, based on your product.
The rotor spins fast inside the stator and creates strong suction at the center of the workhead. Liquids and solids are drawn in, and centrifugal force throws them toward the edge.
There the product passes through the narrow gap between the rotor tips and the stator wall, where it is sheared mechanically. It then leaves at high speed through the stator openings, with a second, hydraulic shear.
The radial flow sends the whole batch through the shear zone many times, until it reaches the target uniformity. Multi stage rotor and stator sets reduce droplets and agglomerates step by step.

• Abrasive chemical slurries, with rotor and stator teeth hardened by nitriding.
Top entry is the usual choice, because the unit is easy to remove and clean. On open vessels the shaft seal sits above the product, so a lip seal is enough and no costly mechanical seal is needed.
Bottom entry suits vessels with little headroom or with a liquid level that drops low. The product weight feeds the workhead directly, which lowers the risk of cavitation and draws in powders more easily. The vortex is smaller, so sensitive emulsions do not take in air.
The batch size sets the model. Each size covers a volume range, for example 200–1,500 L at 11 kW.
