The UZX-987 inline high shear mixer is installed in the pipeline, outside the vessel, and homogenizes and emulsifies the product in a single pass. It connects to the existing line through standard inlet and outlet connections. Throughput ranges from 1.5 to 130 t/h.
It is also known as an inline homogenizer, inline emulsifier or shear pump. With low viscosity liquids it pumps the product through the line by itself, with no extra pump.

The number in the model code is the size, the same in both versions. UZX-OI1 has one rotor and stator stage, UZX-OI3 has three. The actual throughput depends on the product and the stator type.

For viscous products the motor power can be increased to keep the optimal speed. We confirm throughput and power in the quote, based on your product.
The rotor spins fast inside a fixed stator, like two toothed rings set one inside the other. A strong vacuum forms at the inlet and draws the product into the workhead.
There the material is hit, rubbed and sheared, then accelerated through the narrow gaps between the teeth. The shear is more intense than in a standard shear pump.
The whole product passes once through the shear zone, so every milliliter is treated the same way. In the three stage version the product goes through three successive shear events on every pass.

The single stage version is enough for most standard emulsions. The three stage version is for products that need a very fine result, because it applies three shear events in one pass.
The line throughput sets the size, from 1.5 to 130 t/h with one stage and from 1.5 to 110 t/h with three stages.
For batch homogenizing directly in the vessel, the right choice is the high shear mixer UZX-986, top or bottom entry, 10–12,000 L batches. When the product must be deaerated after homogenizing, see the vacuum deaerator UZX-988 for liquids and pastes, 300–30,000 L/h.
