Thin sheets from 0.3 to 3 mm usually come 600–1,500 mm wide and 2,000, 2,438 or 3,048 mm long. For thick plate and special sizes, we confirm the grade, finish and size combination in the quote.

Values are the grade ranges, in percent by mass.
• 304L is the general purpose grade, low in carbon and easy to weld. It is used for kitchen equipment, tableware, cabinets and construction.
• 316L contains molybdenum and resists chlorides better. It is chosen for heat exchangers, paper mills, dyeing equipment and buildings in coastal areas.
• 201 has less nickel and more manganese. It suits decorative tubes and shallow drawn parts.
• 430 is ferritic and almost nickel free. It is used for decoration, household appliances and burner parts.
• 310S works at high temperatures, in kilns, boilers and furnace linings.
• Duplex 2205 and super duplex 2507 combine high strength with corrosion resistance where chlorides are present. They are used in refineries, chemical plants, offshore platforms and desalination.
• 904L contains 25% nickel and 4.3% molybdenum, for aggressive chemical media.
• 2B is the smooth matt cold rolled finish, suited to bending, deep drawing and welding.
• BA is bright and used for visible surfaces.
• No.1 is the hot rolled finish, for thick plate and industrial parts.
• No.4 and HL are brushed. No.4 has a fine texture, while HL has long continuous lines.
• 8K is mirror polished, for decorative cladding.
• Embossed, sandblasted, PVD coloured and anti-fingerprint sheets go into lifts, hotels and nameplates.
The environment the part works in decides the grade. Indoors and in dry conditions, 304L or 430 cover most applications. Where chlorides, salt water or acids are present, 316L or a duplex grade is the choice.
Processing decides the finish. Cutting, bending and welding usually start from 2B, while visible surfaces use BA, No.4, HL or 8K.
