The UZX-998 conical screw mixer gently blends fragile powders, heat sensitive powders and powders that tend to segregate, in a vertical conical vessel. A cantilevered screw turns on its own axis while an orbital arm carries it along the wall. Total volume ranges from 30 to 30,000 L.
Gravity does much of the downward flow, so the unit needs far less power than a horizontal machine of the same volume. Because it works gently, it adds little heat to the product.

The screw lifts the material from the bottom of the cone to the surface, while the planetary motion blends it horizontally around the vessel. The rest of the mass flows down by gravity and enters the screw zone again.
The screw stays parallel to the wall and close to it throughout the cycle, so no zones are left unblended. On scale up, the screw and arm speeds are adjusted to the vessel diameter.
