The UZX-HW-80/90 is a hand-held hydraulic rock and concrete splitter for demolition and excavation without explosives. The cylinder goes into a 42–50 mm drilled hole, and the wedge between two counter-wedges is pushed hydraulically, opening the rock or concrete with an actual force of 480 t in 5–15 seconds.
It is used where a hydraulic breaker does not fit or where noise, dust, vibration and flying debris are not allowed. An electric or diesel pump unit at 55–60 MPa drives 1 to 10 cylinders at once, depending on the model.

Splitting starts with 42–50 mm holes, drilled with a rock drill in rock or concrete. A cylinder with a wedge between two counter-wedges goes into each hole. The pump unit sends oil at 55–60 MPa, the wedge moves down and spreads the counter-wedges, and the material cracks along the line of holes in 5–15 seconds, with no blast noise, no vibration and no flying debris.

The HW80 cylinders have 600 t of theoretical force and the HW90 800 t, with the same actual force of 480 t. The wedge length, 250, 350 or 450 mm, is chosen by block thickness. The pump unit can be electric, 3–5.5 kW, or diesel, 3–7.5 HP, and drives 1 to 10 cylinders.
