The UZX-HW-UJ33 is a drill jumbo for medium-sized road, rail and hydropower tunnels and for rock bolting. It has a heavy drilling boom, a 20 kW hydraulic drifter and a 600 kg service platform, with a working height of up to 12 m.
At the face it runs on electricity, with 220 kW installed, and for travel it uses its 179 kW Cummins diesel engine. The drilling hydraulic system, with independent pilot control, has 15 intelligent control and protection functions.

The jumbo drives on wheels to the working face, lowers its 4 hydraulic legs and positions the boom. The hydraulic rotary-percussive drifter drills 64–89 mm holes on the feed, for face blasting or for rock bolts. At the face, the machine runs on mains power through the cable on its reel, and water for hole flushing comes from its own pump. The diesel engine is used only for travel.
The heavy boom and the 600 kg service platform cover faces up to 12 m high.
The hydraulic system with independent pilot control has 15 control and protection functions, so it is stable and safe.
The feed rolls over 360°, and the boom lifts +68°/−45° and swings ±45°, so it drills at the face and for bolts in the roof and walls.
At the face it runs on electricity, with no exhaust fumes, and water for hole flushing comes from its own pump.
It is used in medium-sized road, rail and hydropower tunnels, for face blast holes and for rock bolts in the roof and walls.
The first criterion is the hole diameter. For 65–130 mm holes, the UZX-HW-920, UZX-HW-935, UZX-HW-936 and UZX-HW-421T fit, and for 110–165 mm the UZX-HW-925 and UZX-HW-930. The second criterion is air. The separated rigs (UZX-HW-920, 925, 930) need an external compressor and are lighter. The integrated ones (UZX-HW-935, 936, 938, 421T, 452H) carry the compressor on board and work on their own in the quarry. The third criterion is the site. Underground, the UZX-HW-UP45 is used, and for tunnels and rock bolting the UZX-HW-UJ33 jumbo.
