The UZX-HW-RC500 is a crawler air reverse circulation drilling rig. Compressed air brings the cuttings to the surface through the inside of the rods, not around them, so samples come up clean, undiluted and from the exact depth. It drills down to 400 m with 105–400 mm holes.
It has a 132 kW Cummins engine, 10000 N·m of torque in low gear and 5000 N·m in high gear, 25 t of pull-back and a drilling rate of 10–35 m per hour. It works with 16–55 m³/min of air at 1.6–6 MPa and 3 m rods of Ø102 or Ø114 mm. It weighs 12 t.

The rig works with dual-wall rods. Compressed air travels down the space between the two walls to the hammer at the bottom and comes back up through the inner tube, carrying the cuttings. The samples reach the surface without touching the hole walls, so they do not mix with the rock above, and are collected by depth interval for analysis.
Samples rise through the inside of the rods, so they are clean and show exactly the depth they come from.
Two torque gears: 10000 N·m for large diameters, 5000 N·m for speed.
A drilling rate of 10–35 m per hour keeps the cost per metre low.
The 25 t pull-back works safely with long strings.
